Civil Rights Documents

“When You Ride Alone, You Ride With Hitler”, is an interesting way to rouse public sacrifice and support for the war effort. The level of sacrifice that was asked of our country and our civilians during WWII has not been seen since. I could only imagine if our government issued a proclamation stating that, “When You Ride Alone, You Ride With ISIL”, what reactions would be. Students could see the differences of how dire situations were, and what was asked of our society during this period, as compared to the very little that is asked of us, today. The discussion within the class could be directed towards what, if any, privileges we would be willing to give up to eliminate threats to our national security. And if we already are giving up privileges in terms of privacy, towards that end goal, and we are no longer being asked, or told, it is just happening to us unwittingly.
