First Edition and the World Premiere Recording of
The Six Quartets for Flute, Strings, and Continuo

Quantz’s six flute quartets received their modern premiere performance during the 2003 Boston Early Music Festival. Subsequently recorded, they were released on the Hungaroton label. The performers (all on period instruments) are Mary Oleskiewicz, flute; Elizabeth Field, violin; Daniel Elyar, viola; Stephanie Vial, cello; David Schulenberg, harpsichord.
