Since 1600 BC, society has told women how they <i>should<\/i>\u00a0look. Starting as young as two years old with Barbie Dolls, girls are taught that they should be tall, skinny, and have porcelain-like skin. After doing some further investigating, Buzz Feed also released a video called, <i>Men&#8217;s Standards Of Beauty Around The World. <\/i>Although I believe that women are held to a higher and more drastic body image standard; our society is heavily shaped on our physical figure. It\u00a0amazes me how our food industry mostly provides fast, fat-producing foods yet we have these high standards of body image. I hope that as a society we could begin to love ourselves like Ana (America Ferrara) in\u00a0<em>Real Women Have Curves \u00a0<\/em>does.\u00a0Despite her Mother&#8217;s demeaning comments, Ana continued to love herself no matter what her mother said. She began to influence the workers in her sisters factory as well. She loved her body although it wasn&#8217;t what society told her it should look like. We don&#8217;t need society to tell us what is beautiful. If we love ourselves for who we are, perhaps these harsh and unrealistic body ideals will begin to go away.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Real Women Have Curves, and Women\u2019s Body Types Over History opened my eyes.
