Fat And Carbs- Good or Bad?

Something I often hear everywhere is how you are not supposed to eat bread, pasta or cheese because they make you gain weight and is bad for your body but in an Italian family that is a little hard to do. High saturated fat foods can not be good for anyone if eaten in large amounts or daily but not all fat is bad fat, in the healthy diet you are supposed to eat some fat. Carbs like bread cheese, pasta, and potatoes is known to be the worst things you could eat on a diet for losing weight. But those are not the only kinds of carbs, and fat people are scared of. People do not realize that there is no such thing as an unhealthy food it is mostly dependant on how much of that food you eat to make your calorie intake over the amount you should be eating a day. You could eat a 1500kcal breakfast with fruits, vegetables, organic juice, oatmeal and eggs but if you choose to eat a different kind of 1500 kcal meal it would be less than half the amount of food you could be eating that has one piece of cake, a cinnamon roll, and another fatty, high sugar food and a cup of orange juice. The food density in the first meal is more than the second one making you more likely to eat again in a less amount of time rather than if you ate the first meal filling you up more.

Diets today emphasize too much on eating low fat, low sugar, or low carb foods and totally pulling away from any good or bad fat and good or bad carbohydrate. Saturated fats found in meats and dairy products have been proven to increase cholesterol that is not healthy, but fat like olive oil is an imperative part of someone’s diet it’s beneficial for your heart and body weight, unlike cheap frying oil. “Sugars are simple carbohydrates and starches are complex carbohydrates; all are ultimately broken down into glucose, the body fuel that circulates in the blood. Sugars are digested rapidly, quickly raising blood glucose, but most starches take longer to digest.” (New York Times). Carbohydrates like white rice and white bread have been processed in a way that the benefits of the grains have been removed and react as more sugar when it is eaten; they are rapidly digested and absorbed make insulin levels rise very high in the body.Even though in China mostly everyone eats white rice daily the amount of walking and exercise the people there do can not compare to the people in America but all of a sudden recently the rise of obesity and diabetes became present, but still not as much as America.
