“Full STEAM Ahead!”

October 22-24, 2014 at Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center in West Hartford,CT.

The theme of this year’s learning community retreat is “Full STEAM Ahead!” This year’s retreat will feature workshops on the continued evolution of learning communities, with a special focus on the integration of the Arts and STEM disciplines. Piet Hut, Ph.D., astrophysicist and Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Institute for Advanced Study, in Princeton, NJ, will be our keynote speaker. Hut was an early pioneer of interdisciplinary approaches of scientific scholarship and continues to work at bringing together the best ideas of various disciplines.

Workshop topics will include STEAM-related learning communities and initiatives, assessment of learning communities, innovations in learning communities, community beyond the learning community, diversity and inclusion in learning communities, and creating faculty community.
